Before focusing on fine art, I was a graphic designer for many years. My artistic roots are in design. How I start every project comes from my education at University of the Arts. My professors there not only taught me all the basics such as layout, color and composition, but really taught me how to see and experience the world in a truly visual way. That inspiration shapes much of my artwork. Logos and surface design were always favorites of mine, though I have designed my fare share of brochures, posters and the like. I use the same principles I learned many years ago in design and mix them with the whimsical doodles and paintings I create today.
